Mad River Valley

Nestled in the Heart of Central Vermont between two spines of the Green Mountains, the Mad River Valley is about as idyllic a vacation destination as you're going to find. The Mad River winds north from Warren to Waitsfield, by Fayston, then through Moretown before flowing into the Winooski River. The valley is unique in many ways, not least of which is our 3 ski mountains and lack of traffic signals.

The valley is peaceful, but active in a progressive Vermont way: 3 ski mountains, riverside parks, farmer's markets, golfing, ice skating, kayaking, swimming, cross-country skiing, canoeing, tubing, a very active localvore movement and many more activities to participate in

For those not looking for the active, no worries. Scenic Views, Local Artisan Shops, wonderful restaurants, and the unharried atmosphere of the Valley will soothe your soul and have you wanting to return year after year. View our documentary video below, "Almost There' and get a feel for the community, you'll realize that everyone that lives here came for the same reason you'll choose us for your vacation !! It's not just a destination, it's a way of life....

Whether you are looking to spend a romantic weekend with your partner or ski moguls, cruisers, or beginner terrain all week at Sugarbush or Mad River Glen, we're sure you will fall in love with our little Valley as soon as you arrive.

Review from Guest

We must say although we arrived with very high expectations we left with higher ones ! Every B&B we now go to in other states are going to be hard pressed to live up to the Yellow Farmhouse Inn. Upon entering we encountered the wonderful smell of baking warm greetings on every encounter, a beautiful and clean room, and wonderful breakfasts each morning. The views in every direction were a bonus as was the peaceful and serene snowshoe we took through the wooded trails right from the property..Sandra and Mike have refined the art of innkeeping and have set a bar for others to try to attain. Keep up the great work and we'll see you on our next visit to Vermont!
